Carl Sagan was/is the most famous science popularizer in history. He was a professor in Cornell University, a popular author, and a prolific scientist. More than 40 years ago, he led us to a journey through the Cosmos. His documentary TV show Cosmos: A Personal Voyage (1980) was a huge success. It had a profound impact on me.
I went to Monterey Bay, California where the opening sequence was shot. I tried to recreate and relive those moments. I hope you will forgive me if the video does not meet the standard. My resources were limited, I had no budget to speak of.
UPDATE: I spoke with Ann Druyan, co-writer of Cosmos: A Personal Voyage and Carl Sagan’s wife. She watched this video and she said,
“…… I was deeply touched by it. I felt all the admiration and the love that went into it and, so, I thought it was lovely.”
